The Oklahoma women's basketball team has given Sooner Nation a lot to celebrate in the last week.

On Monday, to start the week, the 3-seed Sooners hammered the 6-seed Iowa Hawkeyes 96-62 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Lloyd Noble Center. The win punched OU's ticket to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2013.

To get there, the Sooners again dominated 14-seed Florida Gulf Coast 81-58 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in another full Lloyd Noble Center.

Then on Tuesday, Jennie Baranczyk & Co. spurred the biggest celebration of all that could change the program for the next four years.

Aaliyah Chavez, the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class, announced live on SportsCenter her commitment to the Sooners. She had previously narrowed her choices down to OU, Texas, South Carolina, LSU, Texas Tech and UCLA.

Chavez, a point guard, is a consensus five-star recruit and every major recruiting service ranks her as the No.1 prospect in the entire 2025 class. According to MaxPreps, she averaged 34.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.7 steals a game this season as a senior. In her career, Chavez averaged 32.1 points.

Chavez celebrated alongside Sooner Nation on Saturday for OU's first-round victory. It was her last visit before announcing her decision only a few days later.

Then, three days later, Sooner Nation celebrated Chavez because she was officially one of them.
