USA Softball Women’s National Team announced on Thursday the roster for the USA Down Under: International Softball Series scheduled for Dec. 31, 2025 - Jan. 3, 2026. Three former Oklahoma Sooners -- Tiare Jennings, Alyssa Brito and Kelly Maxwell were among the 16 players who will represent the United States for a four-game exhibition series in Brisbane against the Australian National Team.

The event marks the first time since winning the gold medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics games that the eagles are landing down under for a game of softball, where both teams are playing to garner interest in the sport’s inclusion in the 2032 Olympics at the same location. The squads have been rivals on the field since 1965 and last played each other at the 2023 WBSC World Championship qualifiers in Ireland, which had the States come on top with a 1-0 shutout.

Among the universities represented on the roster, Oklahoma leads with three graduates who were members of the Women’s College World Series four-peat years from 2021-24, though Jennings was the only one present for all. While she and Maxwell have been competing on the national team since their graduation year, Brito will make her first appearance on the roster.

Oklahoma’s own Patty Gasso will reprise her role as the head coach at the same time as her current Sooners prepare for the 2026 college softball season. The owner of eight national titles made her international debut last August at the 2025 World Games in China, where she led USA to an unbeaten gold medal run, and will continue calling the shots in future competitions, including the 2028 Olympics that will be hosted in Oklahoma City.

Times and viewing options for every game will be announced at a later date.
