The Oklahoma Sooners on Tuesday welcomed prospects from across the country during their first Brent Venables Elite Football Camp of the summer, and some of the visitors impressed enough during their time in Norman to earn a new offer.

Venables has used these camps in the past to find underrated talent that's seeking more exposure and maybe going unnoticed for whatever reason. It's perfect timing as the Sooners really shift their focus to finding targets for their 2028 recruiting class or even look for some late 2027 additions. The first camp of 2026 didn't disappoint, as so far three recruits apparently proved to be good enough on Tuesday to have a chance to be a Sooner.

Declan Heying, OL

Four-star interior offensive lineman Declan Heying is certainly not an unknown, as the Sooners joined his growing list of offers that already included Arkansas, Auburn, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, UCLA, and Wisconsin. He announced his OU offer on the same day as the camp.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Heying, listed at 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, is the No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the 2028 class out of Des Moines Christian School in Iowa. He's also the fourth-best player in his state.

And Heying didn't just impress the Sooners, but the feeling was mutual. He told Sooners on SI's Carson Field that he was honored to earn the OU offer and wanted to return to Oklahoma for a visit this season.

Jaxon Lawler, OL

Jaxon Lawler was the second half of the pair of offensive linemen OU offered on Tuesday, but he's much more under the radar despite being further along in the recruiting process as a 2027 prospect.

Lawler is still unrated and unranked by 247Sports, while Rivals has given him three stars as the No. 125 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class. OU is his most impressive offer so far, with other offers from Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, North Texas, UTSA, Air Force, Navy, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Rice, Tulsa, UTEP, and Wyoming. He picked up the offers from the Bedlam rivals on back-to-back days as two of his first three Power Four opportunities.

OU offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh apparently saw something he really liked in Lawler, especially since he already has a loaded 2027 group assembled with five-star offensive tackles Cooper Hackett and Kaeden Penny, three-star OT Luke Wilson, and three-star interior linemen Isaac Coughran and Tyson Ross.

Kingston McPike, WR

Wide receiver Kingston McPike is another rather unknown recruit with a tiny list of offers in the 2028 class. The Sooners are just his second Division-I offer after Nebraska was the first in April. Those are two big-time offers to be a recruit's firsts.

McPike, listed at 5-foot-11, is still unranked and unrated by every major recruiting outlet out of Christian Brothers College in St. Louis. That will change soon, though, after adding offers from programs like OU and Nebraska, with even more on the way.
