School is letting out and summertime is about to really heat up the recruiting trail with official visit season nearing, and the Oklahoma Sooners are looking to use the next month-plus to make even more additions to their already loaded 2027 class, particularly at cornerback.
Brandon Sherrard, a 2027 four-star cornerback, just got an OU offer last week, but the Sooners have apparently moved fast enough that Sherrard already has an official visit to Norman scheduled, he announced on Thursday.
Sherrard will be in Oklahoma on May 29-31 for his second of five official visits during the spring. He will also take trips to Penn State on June 5, LSU on June 12 and Texas on June 19. Rivals initially had Sherrard being at Texas A&M on May 29, which means the Sooners have seemingly replaced the Aggies among his top options. He also visited Arizona State in April.

That list of visits alone proves Sherrard is a hot commodity, but he also has offers on the table from the likes of Arkansas, Florida State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and more.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Sherrard is the No. 19 cornerback in the 2027 class and No. 155 overall prospect. He's also the No. 19 player in the state of Texas out of Shadow Creek High School. Last season, he tallied 35 tackles, three interceptions and 10 pass deflections as a junior.
The Sooners already have a pair of corners committed to their 2027 class that has 21 total commits so far. The corner duo includes four-star Mikhail McCreary from Texas and three-star Mikyal Davis from Arizona.
OU is still looking to add at least a third cornerback to the group, though, after recently missing out on four-star Juju Johnson. Johnson shockingly committed to in-state UCLA earlier than expected, even before his set announcement date and scheduled official visit to Oklahoma.
In trying to replace Johnson, the Sooners not only recently offered Sherrard, but also four-star athlete Gideon Gash, who could play defensive back or wide receiver in college. Gash seemed to be headed to Michigan State to join his older brothers, but has recently scheduled three official visits elsewhere, including to OU on June 12, showing he could break the family tradition.
Another cornerback is one of the rare needs the Sooners still need from the 2027 class after a stellar start to the group.
