Top-5 2027 athlete Gideon Gash looked to be headed to in-state Michigan State to play his college ball, but even if he does ultimately end up there, Gash will at least take a few other stops beforehand.

Rivals' Allen Trieu reported on Wednesday that Gash has scheduled three official visits for this summer to Oklahoma on June 12, Texas Tech on June 5 and Alabama on June 19. Now with some of the best recruiting staffs in college football in the mix, Gash's decision is likely far from made.

All three programs are trying to swipe Gash right from under the in-state Spartans. 247Sports has had a Crystal Ball Prediction in for Gash to commit to Michigan State since February after the Spartans had been on him since last summer. He also has two older brothers who are already Spartans. That reunion doesn't seem as likely now, though, as Gash's recruitment explodes.

Just since the end of his junior season at Catholic Central High School, Gash has gained Power Four offers from OU, Penn State, Louisville, Texas Tech, Missouri, Iowa, Alabama, Boston College, Auburn, LSU, Northwestern and Florida. The Sooners entered the mix on Jan. 25. He also already had offers from Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, West Virginia and more.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Gash, listed at 6-foot-4, is the No. 69 overall prospect in the 2027 class and No. 2 player in the state of Michigan while excelling at both defensive back and wide receiver. He's the No. 4 athlete in the country, but would likely play cornerback for the Sooners.

Last season, Gash totaled 74 tackles, three tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, an interception and a fumble return that he took for a touchdown. He also caught 19 passes for 540 yards and eight touchdowns.

That experience as a pass-catcher with his length at 6-foot-4 and reported 4.35-second 40-yard dash speed will make Gash dangerous in secondaries. The Sooners just hope it's their secondary now as the third corner they would add to their impressive 2027 class.
