The Oklahoma Sooners just offered who could be their next great pass rusher in Brent Venables' defense.
Five-star 2028 edge rusher Landen Wade this week announced via X that OU offered him as the Sooners have been dishing out offers left and right recently, especially to the 2028 class, including another five-star edge rusher in Jayden Bell. The Sooners would set on the edge for the future if they get both or even just Wade to Norman.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Wade, listed at a monstrous 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds at 15 years old, is the No. 21 overall prospect in the 2028 class and No. 7 edge rusher. Rivals ranks him as high as the No. 3 edge rusher in the country. He's also the No. 3 player in the state of Arizona, where the Sooners have had a lot of recent success, out of Basha High School.
In just eight games last season as a sophomore, Wade broke out for 24 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, four sacks and 11 quarterback hurries. His power and size also equip Wade to play on the interior of the defensive line, but he also has the athleticism to play on the edge in college, especially if he gets faster.

Exploding on recruiting radars early already has Wade with offers from in-state Arizona, Kansas State, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, SMU, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Washington and more. Ohio State and Kentucky offered Wade on the same day as the Sooners as his list will just continue to grow.

The Sooners are still hunting for their first 2028 commit since running back Micah Rhodes decommitted after DeMarco Murray left Norman to be the Kansas City Chiefs' new running backs coach. It's still early in the process, though, and OU has just recently really started to zone in on 2028 prospects with official visit season now just around the corner for the class.
