The Oklahoma Sooners are already big-game hunting for their 2028 recruiting class.
Linebacker Tahj Gray, already considered one of the top 2028 prospects in the country, announced via X on Sunday that he received an offer from the Sooners after Norman during OU's spring game over the weekend.

Just finishing up his sophomore year at St. Joseph Regional High School in New Jersey, Gray has already garnered over 40 FBS offers, including from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and more. And that list is far from done growing by the time Gray makes a decision.
Last season, Gray recorded 102 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass breakups, and forced and recovered a fumble, according to 247Sports. He was named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Gray, listed at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, is already a five-star recruit as the No. 22 player in the 2028 class. He's also the No. 2 linebacker and top prospect in the state of New Jersey. Rivals ranks him as the best linebacker in the class.
Gray just visited Norman for the first time as the Sooners hosted a large load of recruits this past weekend for their spring game. The event seemed to turn a corner for the Sooners to really start focusing on their 2028 group after already assembling the top 2027 class in college football with 20 commits.
Fellow 2028 linebacker Reagan Smith also attended OU's spring game and made it clear the Sooners are already frontrunners in his recruitment. It will be a much tougher battle for Gray, though. Regardless, the Sooners still need that first 2028 commitment to hopefully be the first domino to fall for another top class.
