The Oklahoma Sooners have jumped on the bandwagon for a suddenly rising 2027 wide receiver.
Taurean Rawlins, a three-star 2027 wide receiver, announced on Tuesday a late offer from the Sooners as his recruitment has recently exploded with official visit season right around the corner to give late entrants like OU a chance to impress.
Taurean Rawlins gets Oklahoma offer in midst of recruiting explosion
Rawlins' list of offers has recently grown rapidly with OU, Ohio State, Nebraska, Indiana, Miami, Florida State, UConn and West Virginia all extending offers just within the last month. His offers also already included from in-state Georgia, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Boise State, Kansas, Kansas State, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin and more.
Although there's no expert prediction yet, Georgia seems to be the favorite right now to land Rawlins and keep the Atlanta product home. According to Rivals, Rawlins has already taken three trips to Athens and also has an official visit scheduled for the weekend of May 29. He also has visits planned to Vanderbilt (June 5), Clemson (June 12) and Arkansas (June 12). The Sooners likely have to get on that schedule to have a real shot at getting Rawlins.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Rawlins, listed at 6-foot, is the No. 58 wide receiver in the 2027 class. Last season for Mount Vernon Presbyterian High School, Rawlins broke out with 67 receptions for 1,395 yards and 17 touchdowns while averaging 20.8 yards a catch in 11 games. He surpassed 100 receiving yards in all but one game, and even in that one he was just shy with 98. He also caught a TD in every game but one.

The Sooners already have three 2027 wide receivers committed, including four-star Demare Dezeurn, four-star Greydon Howell and three-star Tra'Von Hall. OU could, though, be bracing to replace Hall, another speedy 6-foot receiver, who's been looking at other options and doesn't seem to be locked in.
