Texas sucked.

Texas lost to Ohio State 28-14 in the Cotton Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff semifinals on Friday night in Arlington, Texas. The win sent the Buckeyes to the national championship game against Notre Dame on Monday, Jan. 20, while the loss concluded the Longhorns' season in the same way it ended last year.

Ohio State scored a touchdown on its opening drive then shut down Texas until the Longhorns finally scored and tied the game on their last possession of the first half.

That tied lasted only one play, though, before TreVeyon Henderson took a screen pass for a 75-yard score and gave the Buckeyes a 14-7 lead at halftime.

Texas tied things up again in the third quarter when Quinn Ewers and Jaydon Blue connected for another TD. The Buckeyes then took a 21-14 lead with 7:02 left thanks to a 1-yard run from Quinshon Judkins.

And that's when things got real entertaining for Sooner Nation watching.

The Longhorns got all the way down to OSU's 1-yard line with a 1st-&-Goal. Before long it was a 4th-and-8. Still with a chance to tie the game, Ewers looked left as Jack Sawyer came around the edge to knock the ball out of Ewer's hands. Sawyer then scooped up the fumble and returned it for an 83-yard TD and the dagger.

Three plays later, after Texas got the ball back, Ewers threw an interception to really ice things.

The Sooners have been there before -- four times in fact. And every time OU came up one win short of playing for a national title in the College Football Playoff, Sooner Nation had to hear about from their rival. Friday night, it was the OU faithful's turn.

Sooner Nation relished Texas' failure on the big stage and danced on Bevo's grave all night.

Let's relish.

Go Buckeyes?

A reminder Quinn Ewers' career started at Ohio State before what started a streak of terrible decisions.

*chef's kiss*

Even in the darkest of times, there can be light.

And all this happened in their own backyard!!

But let's not forget what's really important during this time.
