At times, it seemed like it might never happen again, but finally, Sooner Nation got to hear "Oklahoma" on Selection Sunday.
The Sooners made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021 after getting snubbed two of the past three years under coach Porter Moser.
OU got the 9-seed in the West Region and will play 8-seed UConn in the first round on Friday. If the Sooners win, barring a miracle upset, they would get 1-seed Florida in the second round on Sunday.
It's definitely a daunting draw for the Sooners getting the two-time defending national champions Huskies first, then SEC champion Florida next.
It took a bit for the Sooners to learn their matchup, or if they were even in at all, though. That built some tension for Sooner Nation after getting so close recently before getting disappointed, even after being so sure of OU getting in.
OU was not included until the last region that was announced during the Sunday Selection special on CBS.
Today, we hear “Oklahoma”

Making him wait for this is cruel
Then finally!
The relief, then the celebration.

The OU admin gave him one of the lowest NIL budgets in the SEC.

His 2 young stars gave up on him and transferred.
The OU student body stopped showing up.
In the hardest conference in College Basketball history, he did it anyways.
