A perk of starting low is only going up.

In what's been a frustrating recruiting class so far for the Oklahoma Sooners, OU experienced a bump in Rivals' latest 2026 recruiting rankings that released on Monday. After the update, the Sooners' class jumped five spots from No. 29 to No. 24. That also ranked ninth in the SEC.

Sooners rise in newest Rivals recruiting rankings

As of Monday afternoon, the Sooners had 15 players committed from the 2026 class. Rivals, though, has OU with 14 pledges because the outlet hasn't added the Sooners' newest commit, tight end Tyler Ruxer, to the list yet.

Making up OU's class, based on Rivals' ratings, are nine four-star recruits and four three-star prospects, with kicker Trace Rudd unrated.

Notably, OU quarterback commit Bowe Bentley's stock just rose even more as a four-star recruit, further solidifying OU's gamble on the prospect. He cracked Rivals' top-50 overall recruits at No. 41 as OU's highest-ranked commit and is also now a top-5 QB at No. 4.

The Sooners' rankings by other other major recruiting services stayed put with no major movement on the recruiting trail. On3 was previously the highest on OU's group but is now tied with Rivals with the Sooners ranked 24th in its team rankings. However, it's worth noting that both outlets are now owned by On3.

Meanwhile, 247Sports has the Sooners all the way down at No. 34, which is also the same as the 247Sports Composite ranking.

The Sooners should continue to rise, though, with more commits likely on the way. Rivals' FutureCast predicts OU to land four-star defensive end Jake Kreul and four-star wide receiver Davian Groce.
