The Sooners apparently weren't finished yet.

The first Wednesday in February used to be a busy day in college football as National Signing Day, and although Oklahoma signed almost its entire 2026 class already in December, the Sooners still managed to have some signing day fun with a surprise commitment.

Tuesday night, OU general manager Jim Nagy hinted with a post on X that the Sooners would be making another addition to their 2026 class, then the next morning, three-star cornerback Lebron Bauer announced his commitment to OU after a tease of his own the night before. Bauer didn't even have a reported offer from the Sooners before his commitment.

Lebron Bauer commits to Sooners after Jim Nagy's cryptic post

Bauer is a consensus three-star recruit out of powerhouse Allen High School in Texas. He had an impressive senior season for Allen in 2025 with 50 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, six interceptions and eight pass break ups. According to the 247Sports Composite, Bauer, listed at 5-foot-11, is the No. 232 cornerback in the 2026 class.

OU was just Bauer's second offer from a Power Four program. His offer list included Arizona, Nevada, San Diego State, Oregon State, Boise State, Stephen F. Austin and New Mexico, which was the only place he took a reported official visit.

Bauer should be the Sooners' final addition to their 2026 class after signing 24 players during the Early Signing Period in December, including four-star corner Derrick Johnson II. Almost all of those signees are already on campus and ready to participate in spring practices.

With most of the dust settled for the 2026 cycle, the Sooners have the No. 15 class in the country, based on the 247Sports Composite. That also gives OU the seventh-best group in the SEC.
