On Tuesday, the SEC announced the kickoff times for all 16 of its teams for the 2024 season, including the Oklahoma football schedule.

Time windows and broadcast designations were previously announced for the first three games of the 2024 season as well as the Oklahoma-Texas rivalry game on Oct. 12. Now we know the time windows and television information for the entire schedule.

Providing kickoff time information ahead of the start of the season is a fan benefit of the new conference rights agreement between the SEC and ESPN that begins this fall. All SEC conference games will air exclusively on ABC and ESPN platforms.

The television start-time windows for weeks 4 through 14 of the coming season are broken down into four categories:

Early (11 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT start)

Afternoon (2;30 to 3:30 p.m. start)

Night (5 to 7 p.m. CT start)

Flex (either 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. start or 5 to 7 p.m. start)

Oklahoma's remaining eight games (seven conference games and one nonconference game) include four games in the flex window and two each in the early and afternoon windows.

This represents a giant departure from the past several seasons when the Sooners have been scheduled to play an inordinate number of games in the early time window. Last season, as an example, seven of Oklahoma's 12 regular-season games were in the 11 a.m. window.

Oklahoma will play games in the early window this season at home against South Carolina (Oct. 19) and at Ole Miss (Oct. 26). They will play afternoon games at home against Tulane (Sept. 14), at Auburn (Sept. 28), against Texas in Dallas (Oct. 12) and at home in a nonconference matchup with Maine (Nov. 2), when the Sooners will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

(They will play designated night games at home on back-to-back weekends early in the schedule, against Temple (Friday, Aug. 30) and Houston (Sept. 7). Four Oklahoma games have been designated flex games, which means a later determination will be made (likely the week before) on whether the game will be played in the afternoon window on in prime time under the lights. The flex games are home against Tennessee (Sept. 21), at Missouri (Nov. 9), home against Alabama (Nov. 23) and at LSU (Nov. 30).
