Despite losses by two top-10 teams over the weekend, Oklahoma remained unchanged at No. 15 and No. 13, respectively, in the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches Poll rankings to begin Week 3 of the college football season.

This is probably the best the Sooners could hope for after a seriously lackluster performance in a narrow four-point win over heavy underdog Houston on Saturday night. While OU held its position from a week ago in the weekly rankings, two other Big 12 teams, Oklahoma State and Kansas State jumped over the Sooners in the AP poll.

Notre Dame took a free fall, dropping 13 spots to No. 18 in the AP poll and 12 spots to No. 19 in the Coaches Poll this week after being upset 16-14 by Northern Illinois.

Texas' convincing victory over reigning national champion Michigan moved the Longhorns ahead of Ohio State to No. 2 in the AP voting but they held steady at No. 3 in the Coaches Poll. Michigan, meanwhile, tumbled downward by seven spots to Nos. 17 and 16, respectively.

Nebraska, Boston College and Northern Illinois are newcomers to the AP Top 25 this week at 23, 24 and 25, respectively; Iowa State (23), Nebraska (24) and Memphis (25) cracked the Coaches Poll top-25 teams for the first time this week.

Again this week, the SEC led all conferences with eight teams in the top 25 and six in the top 10. The Big Ten was next with six ranked teams, and five from the Big 12.

Oklahoma will host Tulane this week, which gave now 14th-ranked Kansas State (AP) all it could handle before K-State rallied late to win 34-27 on the road.
