Oklahoma basketball projected starting five after Jalon Moore withdraws from the NBA Draft

Porter Moser will be on the hot seat in 2024 and if Oklahoma can't get back to the NCAA Tournament, then it could be his last season in Norman. On Wednesday, Moser got good news when Jalon Moore announced he was returning to school.

Porter Moser was probably anxiously awaiting Jalon Moore’s decision regarding his NBA future. Now that Moore is back, the pieces of Oklahoma’s roster fit together much better. When Moser wants to go small, Moore is strong enough to hold up at the five, but in the starting lineup, he fits perfectly at the four as an inside-out scorer who shot over 40% from three but on low volume.

Moore will need to get more involved with the offense but still retain enough energy to make an impact on the defensive end of the floor. His 6.7 rebounds and a block per game were both necessities for a team with a diminutive backcourt. This season, his presence will be even more important.
