The offensive juggernaut that Oklahoma became after Lincoln Riley joined Bob Stoops' staff, it is not surprising that the Sooners would look to bring in talented receiving prospects with game-breaking skill to supplement the team's weaponry for its Air Raid offense.

Dede Westbrook had several D1 scholarship offers out of high school in Cameron, Texas, but he was not recruited by Oklahoma. Following an outstanding freshman season at Blinn (Texas) Community College, after which he was ranked as the No. 12 overall JUCO player and No. 3 wide receiver by ESPN, he was widely recruited but ultimately chose to transfer to Oklahoma.

Westbrook was a burner, like Brown after him, and was a tremendous deep threat on passes thrown by Baker Mayfield. His nine 100-yard receiving games ranks fourth in program history, and he is tied for sixth with 21 touchdown catches. He caught a total of 126 passes for 2,208 yards, which ranks 10th in program history. Westbrook was a finalist for the 2016 Heisman Trophy, finishing fourth in the voting.

Westbrook opted out of his final year of collegiate eligibility, leaving early for a career in the NFL. He was a fourth-round selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2017 NFL Draft.
