17 potential 2025 Oklahoma football recruits heading to Norman for official visits

Brent Venables has a chance to land multiple five-star players this weekend with the final group of summer official visits coming to Norman.

With 16 commits, Brent Venables's 2025 high school recruiting class is already one of the best in the nation, but with 17 high school recruits and 12 of them blue chip players coming to Norman this weekend, the future of Oklahoma football could get even brighter. 

Last weekend 10 players were on campus for official visits and so far only one, four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris, has committed to play for the Sooners. Tuesday, offensive tackle Lamont Rogers and linebacker Mark Iheanachor both took their officials to Oklahoma, but this weekend’s group has the potential to be the most impactful. 

Of that 10-player group from a week ago, offensive tackle Michael Fasusi was one of the most highly rated, and Oklahoma reportedly made an impression, but Texas and Texas A&M are still considered the favorites. This weekend, Andrew Babalola, a tackle prospect from Kansas is the headliner and an excellent option if Fasusi decides to play for the other side of the Red River Rivalry. 

The trenches are the most important to Venables in his nearly complete reconstruction of the Oklahoma roster, so edge rusher Isaiah Gibson would be a massive addition to the class as well. Beyond just landing commitments from uncommitted players, Venables and his staff will also try to flip the five players who will be arriving to Norman with other commitments already announced.

  • WR Quincy Porter, NJ: 4-star (Ohio State commit)
  • LB Dawson Merritt, KS: 4-star
  • DL Smith Orogbo, TX: 4-star
  • TE Nate Roberts, OK: 4-star (Ohio State commit) 
  • OT Ryan Rodje, TX: 4-star (Oklahoma commit)
  • CB Trystan Haynes, OK: 4-star (Oklahoma commit)
  • LB Christian Jones, NE: 4-star
  • CB Cobey Sellers, TX: 4-star (Texas A&M commit)
  • EDGE Max Granville, TX: 4-star
  • DL Brandon Brown, FL: 3-star (Texas commit)
  • WR Emmanuel Choice, TX: 3-star
  • S Courtland Guillory, TX: 3-star (Oklahoma commit)
  • DL Christian Evans, VA: 3-star
  • DL Kole Briehler, NJ: 3-star (Stanford commit)
