It will cost even more than initially expected for Oklahoma to part ways with men's basketball coach Porter Moser.

OU on Monday finally released Moser's contract details, which included his buyout, and several outlets reported the new numbers.

According to George Stoia of SoonerScoop, Moser is making $3.3 million this year during a season in which the Sooners are 16-9 and 3-9 in SEC play while in the midst of a four-game losing streak.

The disappointing season that seems to be destined for the Sooners to miss the NCAA Tournament for the fourth year in a row under Moser has Sooner Nation mostly concerned about what it would cost to move on from Moser.

Moser's reported buyout if OU were to fire him without cause (and, no, losses aren't cause) is reportedly about $7.5 million.

With OU just now releasing Moser's contract details, the details of his buyout were speculated to this point. Most expected Moser's buyout to cost OU around $6.5 million, about a million less than the actual number. Some even reported it to be as low as $4.5 million.

That high of a buyout was a shock to many and a major blow for those who want Moser gone as soon as possible, which seems to be most of Sooner Nation. However, now athletic director Joe Castiglione and the rest of OU administration must decide if it will cost more to keep Moser or get rid of him.

In his fourth season leading the Sooners, Moser has never led them to the NCAA Tournament. Even after starting this season 13-0 in nonconference play, it seems the same outcome is likely again after a catastrophic crash during OU's first SEC schedule.

Moser has dug his own grave, but OU has made sure it's not very deep. OU brass rewarding Moser for mediocre seasons has resulted in what could be a buyout it can't afford. Last year, Moser was given a $100,000 raise after going 54-45 during his first three seasons with the Sooners.

Now, it'll cost the Sooners even more than expected to move on from Porter Moser.
