It wasn't the Sooners playing for a national championship on Monday night, but it was still a celebratory day for Oklahoma men's basketball.

Porter Moser landed two additions from the transfer portal on Monday. First, former Notre Dame forward Tae Davis committed to OU. Then, former Miami (FL) point guard Nijel Pack followed, giving the Sooners both a point and a shooter.

The two same-day additions were the Sooners' first gets out of the transfer portal since it opened on March 24. The commitments were also landed exactly a week after OU named NBA All-Star Trae Young assistant general manager and Young donated $1 million to his old program.

Davis was a big get, literally, at 6-foot-9. The Sooners were desperate for help down low to compete in the physical SEC next season and got those reinforcements with Davis.

Last season, Davis averaged 15.1 points and 5.3 rebounds while starting every game. He tested NBA Draft waters after the season ended, but ultimately chose to head to Norman instead.

The Sooners then answered two questions with Pack. OU needed a point guard with Jeremiah Fears headed to the NBA and a shooter with Brycen Goodine gone. Well, Pack is a point guard with a ton of experience who can shoot from long range.

Pack's season was short because of an injury, but that will give him an extra year of eligibility that he'll spend in Norman. In nine games this season, Pack averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 assists and only 1.3 turnovers. He averaged 13.3 points, 3.4 assists and 1.8 turnovers in his last full season in 2023-24.

After a few weeks of no noise and questioning if Moser would even stay at OU, Sooner Nation was fired up on Monday because of the Sooners' new additions, plus the confirmation of five returning players.

But a reminder it's not a one-man show.
