Kentucky guard Otega Oweh certainly was not his best while wearing crimson and cream, but he has been when playing against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Oweh is just one of several former Sooners who have evolved since recently transferring from OU, and at 8 p.m. CT Wednesday night at Rupp Arena, he'll face his former team for the third time, and both instances before, it's been clear who the winner of the breakup was.

Former Sooner Otega Oweh hosts OU at Kentucky on Wednesday

Oweh spent his first two seasons of college basketball playing for Porter Moser at OU before heading to Kentucky ahead of last season. In his final season with the Sooners in 2023-24, Oweh averaged 11.4 points while starting in 28 of 32 games, but he's done nothing but improve since as one of many that Moser let leave Norman.

With the Sooners joining the SEC, Oweh returned to Norman last year to a Lloyd Noble Center that booed him, then he went off for a career-high 28 points, including 18 straight at the end of the game, and made an unbelievable game-winning shot to beat his old team. Even after two years in Norman, that was Oweh's best performance ever inside Lloyd Noble Center, but he was unfortunately wearing blue.

The Sooners then got a second chance at Oweh in the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, but knowing more than anyone what Oweh is capable of, OU still let him put up 27 points and drive the length of the court for another game-winning layup in the final seconds.

In 22 games (all starts) this season, Oweh leads Kentucky with 16.6 points a game while propelling the Wildcats to a 15-7 overall record. He's also averaging 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 steals. However, in two games against the Sooners, his average skyrockets to 27.5 points, plus 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals. If the betting kind, history says take every over on Oweh when facing his old team.

Now, as the Sooners have lost eight in a row and are staring down a historically bad losing streak, Oweh gets to host them on his home court, creating a nightmare scenario for Moser, who's on the hot seat and has players like Oweh getting away to blame for it.
