The consequences of suffering two losses in the same week weren't as devastating as expected for the Oklahoma women's basketball team.

The Sooners stayed inside the top 15 at No. 15 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 that was released on Monday.

At 16-6, OU dropped two spots after losing a pair of games last week. The Sooners went 0-2 during the week with losses to then-No. 7 LSU and then-No. 12 Kentucky.

That loaded SEC slate is a blessing and a curse for the Sooners. It's obviously a factor in suffering back-to-back losses, but the fact OU lost both games to top-15 opponents didn't send the Sooners plummeting despite a rough week.

LSU went up one spot to No. 6 this week, while Kentucky was still just on the outside of the top 10 at No. 11.

The SEC had eight teams ranked in the latest AP Top 25, including No. 2 South Carolina, No. 4 Texas, No. 6 LSU, No. 11 Kentucky, No. 19 Tennessee, No. 23 Alabama and No. 24 Vanderbilt.

That deep of a conference has made for a difficult road for the Sooners this season. Sunday's game against Kentucky was third the time in four games that OU played a top-15 opponent.

There is somewhat of a breather coming up for the Sooners, though, with three-straight unranked foes ahead. They will travel to Ole Miss on Thursday for the only game this week.

If No. 24 Vanderbilt slips up again and falls out of the rankings by Feb. 20, then the Sooners won't face another ranked opponent during the month of February. Their only game schedule for March is against No. 23 Alabama, so that could also end up being an unranked challenger.
