Oklahoma kicker Tate Sandell might break another record by the time you finish reading this.

After a historical performance against Tennessee two weeks ago, Sandell promptly started the No. 11 Sooners' road game against No. 4 Alabama on Saturday with another historical kick. Sandell's 25-yard field goal on the Sooners' opening drive not only put his team up 3-0 early, but also set the OU record for most consecutive field goals made with 19. It's also the second-longest streak in SEC history.

Tate Sandell sets Sooners' school field goal record

After transferring from UTSA this spring, Sandell is 19-for-20 on field-goal attempts after that first make against Bama. He hasn't missed since his debut kick as a Sooner in the season opener. Sandell also entered the game a perfect 100% on 26 extra-point attempts. He's responsible for 83 points so far this season.

Sandell was the hero of the Sooners' upset of Tennessee on the road. He was responsible for nearly half of the Sooners' 33 points with makes of 55, 51, 40 and 55 yards, respectively, plus three PATs.

His first make in the game of 55 yards not only tied his career-long, but also broke the Neyland Stadium record for longest field goal. Sandell went on to set a school record with three made field goals of more than 50 yards in a single game. He also established new single-season school records with six field goals of 50-plus yards and 12 from 40 or more.

Sandell's average of 50.3 yards per make also set a single-game FBS record for longest average distance of field-goal makes with a minimum of four conversions.

After the performance, Sandell was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week and Lou Groza Award Star of the Week.

This isn't the first season that Sandell has rewritten record books either. While at UTSA, Sandell broke school records with a 54-yard field goal for the longest make in UTSA history and 62 touchbacks on kickoffs.
