Oklahoma fans have been dreaming of prized transfer wide receiver Cam Coleman wearing crimson and cream next season, and at least according to one college football expert, the Sooners have a better chance than most to turn that vision into reality.
Coleman immediately became the top overall prospect in the Transfer Portal this cycle, including No. 1 in Saturday Blitz' WR rankings, with his decision to transfer from Auburn once the portal officially opens on Friday. Nearly every program in the country will try to get Coleman, but CBS Sports' Cody Nagel listed Oklahoma among seven potential destinations for Coleman, which puts the Sooners near the front of the race for the biggest portal prize.

Nagel's list of real possibilities to land Coleman included OU, Texas, Texas Tech, USC, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Alabama. Unfortunately for the Sooners, though, there's been even more buzz about a few of those other programs getting Coleman.
Alabama continues to top most lists from college football insiders around the country. Pairing Coleman with Ryan Williams almost seems like an unfair advantage that the Sooners thankfully wouldn't have to deal with in 2026 unless they meet Bama in the postseason.
Coleman originally committed to Texas A&M as a five-star recruit in the 2024 class, so the Aggies still seem like a top option this time, as well.
The worst-case scenario for the Sooners would be losing Coleman to Texas, then having to play against him in the Red River Rivalry. Saturday Blitz' Nicholas Rome already predicted Coleman to choose the Longhorns to give quarterback Arch Manning a real weapon.
None of these programs can legally recruit Coleman directly until the portal opens on Friday, which is when the race will really speed up, but it's a guarantee every program already made its pitch, and apparently the Sooners are among a few with a headstart.
