OU's updated CFP chances

The Oklahoma Sooners' chances at making the College Football Playoff were cut in more than half after losing to Ole Miss 34-26 on Saturday in Norman and dropping to 6-2. According to ESPN's College Football Power Index, the Sooners have a 19.6% chance of making the CFP heading into Week 10. They had a 42.9% chance last week, which was the 11th-best at the time.

The Sooners travel to Tennessee on Saturday. The Volunteers are one of seven SEC teams with better playoff chances than the Sooners, so a win there would catapult OU again, but a third loss could put its playoff odds at almost zero.

Sooners flip Penn State commit

With recruits scattering from Penn State since head coach James Franklin was fired, the Sooners benefitted after landing four-star wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers on Monday.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Rogers, listed at 5-foot-11, is a four-star recruit and the No. 52 receiver in the 2026 class. He immediately became the Sooners' highest-rated 2026 WR commit based on the 247Sports Composite.

Rogers had also attracted offers from Alabama, Indiana, Wake Forest, Kansas State, North Carolina and Nebraska since Franklin was fired.

Austin Reaves' 50-piece

Los Angeles Lakers guard and former Sooner Austin Reaves absolutely went off on Sunday night while All-Star Luka Doncic was sidelined with an injury.

Reaves had a career-high 51 points, plus 11 rebounds and nine assists, for a stat line that set all kinds of history. He was also clutch with four free throws in the final 32 seconds to secure the Lakers' 127-120 road win against the Sacramento Kings.
