It feels like 2011 again.

Top-10 2026 linebacker DaQuives Beck has narrowed his college choices down to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3, to rekindle rivalries that have been dead since 2023 for the Cowboys and since 2011 for the Aggies.

Rivals is the only major recruiting service that does not rank Beck as a top-10 linebacker in the 2026 class. ESPN ranks Beck as high as No. 5, while 247Sports and On3 both have him at ninth. However, Beck has been rising in Rivals' rankings and now sits at No. 15.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Beck, a consensus four-star recruit, is the 11th-best linebacker in the country and No. 25 overall prospect in the talent-rich state of Texas out of Carthage High School. Based on 247Sports' ratings, Beck would be the highest-rated commit for OU and OSU.

The Sooners' current highest-rated commit is another linebacker in four-star prospect Jakore Smith from Bryant, Arkansas. The 247Sports ranks Smith as the No. 25 linebacker in the 2026 class.

After going months without a commit and not having a defensive prospect yet, the Sooners added three defenders within 10 days during May. Safety Niko Jandreau ended the drought, followed by Smith. Defensive lineman Brian Harris then committed on May 23.

More commits should start flooding in soon, though, with official visit season here. Most of OU's top targets will be in Norman on June 20 during ChampU weekend. Beck's official visit to OU will be on Friday and he also recently took an unofficial visit on March 8 after the Sooners offered on Feb. 10.

Beck already took his official visit to OSU on April 4 and will be at Texas A&M on June 13. Beck also already took official visits to Arizona State and SMU.
