Oklahoma men's basketball coach Porter Moser and assistant general manager Trae Young aren't done getting the Sooners more talent.
According to multiple reports, Alabama transfer forward Derrion Reid visited Norman on Tuesday, paving the way for what could be a monstrous addition for the Sooners. Reid also posted on his Instagram that he was at OU.

Alabama transfer Derrion Reid visits Sooners
Reid, a 6-foot-8 freshman forward, is a former five-star recruit out of Grovetown, Georgia, and was a 2024 McDonald's All-American. He was the No. 11 overall recruit, according to ESPN and On3, in the 2024 class.
Last season as a freshman, Reid was immediately inserted into the starting lineup, but ended up mostly coming off the bench for an Alabama team that made the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. He averaged six points, 2.8 rebounds and 14.1 minutes a game in his first collegiate season.

According to Pete Nakos of On3, Reid had a "Do not contact" tag when he entered the transfer portal on April 12. That usually means a player has already made up their mind on where they're going next, but it's been almost two weeks now, and Reid has visited OU and NC State. There's also been talks of Reid returning home and playing for Georgia.
The Sooners have landed three solid players from the transfer portal so far this offseason, starting with another forward in Tae Davis from Notre Dame. Davis was OU's first transfer commit of the year at a spot where the Sooners need the most help.
Davis, at 6-foot-9, was a big step in the Sooners filling the void down low, but they definitely still need more to compete in a physical SEC. Reid, along with incoming freshman Kai Rogers, could be what the Sooners need to hold their own throughout an SEC schedule and not endure another round of losing streaks next year.
