It doesn't matter how long he's been playing college football or who the opponent is, Oklahoma freshman Tory Blaylock has proven he's a dang good running back.
Blaylock on Monday was announced as SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after his stellar 100-yard performance in the Sooners' 26-7 road win over South Carolina on Saturday.

The Sooners benefitted in giving Blaylock a career-high 19 carries as their ground game looked the best it has all season so far, largely because of Blaylock. Blaylock led the Sooners with 101 rushing yards while averaging 5.3 yards on those 19 attempts. He also scored the first touchdown of the game with an 18-yard run on the Sooners' opening drive.

Saturday was the second time in his young career that Blaylock reached the century mark. He first did it when he rushed for 100 yards on 14 carries against Temple. That was the week Blaylock solidified himself as the Sooners' lead back and was rewarded SEC Freshman of the Week for the first time.
In seven games this season as a freshman, Blaylock has 391 rushing yards and four scores while averaging 4.5 yards a carry. He didn't get double-digit carries until Week 3, though, and barely got more than that in two games against Auburn and Texas. In the three games with 14 or more carries, Blaylock has averaged 93 rushing yards and the Sooners are 3-0.
Hopefully after the performance against South Carolina, OU offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle and running backs coach DeMarco Murray continue to feed Blaylock and ride him as the Sooners' workhorse back.
