at Tennessee

Tennessee was responsible for ruining OU's SEC debut last year, so there's revenge at stake here. The Volunteers also lost quarterback Nico Iamaleava, and since he left late in the spring, Josh Heupel really didn't have the time or resources to find a sufficient replacement.

The Volunteers will struggle throughout 2025, including against the Sooners.

at Alabama

There was supposed to be no way the Sooners won this matchup last season, yet Owen Field was stormed and Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now" was blared over the speakers. It's a great memory for Sooner Nation, but one that's also engraved in the minds of the Crimson Tide.

Alabama still reloads without Nick Saban and has one of the toughest environments in the SEC. A second loss here still doesn't squander OU's CFP chances, though.

vs. Missouri

Besides Auburn, this should be OU's next easiest SEC matchup. It's another home game and the Sooners will be mad from the loss the game before. Just like the Big 12 days, OU should go back to owning Mizzou.

vs. LSU

As much as I believe in the Sooners' turnaround in 2025, I already ranked LSU as the best team in the SEC, and maybe even the country, this season. OU does at least get this one at home, but LSU will have a trip to the SEC Championship Game and CFP first-round bye on the line.

Final record: 9-3

A 9-3 record and three losses in the SEC probably doesn't have the Sooners playing for an SEC title, but with the respect the SEC gets, OU could still sneak into the College Football Playoff with that. One thing a 9-3 record does do is save Brent Venables' job for at least another year.
