Porter Moser hopes the basketball gene is strong in the Black family.

Beckham Black, a 2027 point guard, on Sunday announced via social media that the Oklahoma Sooners offered him. Black's older brother, Anthony, plays for the Orlando Magic.

Beckham Black is worthy of his own hype, though, as one of the top point guards in the 2027 class. According to the 247Sports Composite, Black, listed at 6-foot-3, is the No. 7 point guard in the class and No. 37 overall player in the country as a consensus four-star recruit.

Last season as a sophomore at Duncanville High School in Texas, Black averaged 9.7 points, 5.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 33 games, according to MaxPreps. He recently transferred to Southeastern Prep in Orlando, Florida, where his brother plays. Both are originally from Duncanville.

Black also has reported offers from Texas, Cincinnati, Georgetown, Mississippi State, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech and USC. OU and Texas offered Black on the same day.

Anthony Black, also a point guard, played his college ball at Arkansas as a consensus five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American. He spent just one year at Arkansas before becoming the sixth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Black then started 33 games as a rookie for the Magic, and although he came off the bench most of this season, his minutes and stats improved as he averaged 9.4 points a game.

It's still early in the 2027 recruiting cycle, so the Sooners don't have any commitments from the class yet. OU doesn't even have any pledges for the 2026 class yet.
