The lights will be on at least twice during the 2025 college football season at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The SEC on Thursday announced several kickoff times and TV slots for games during the 2025 college football season, including the Oklahoma Sooners' first three nonconference games during Year 2 in the SEC.

Oklahoma-Michigan get primetime slot

The Sooners will kick off their 2025 season against Illinois State at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 30. The season opener will be streamed on ESPN+ and SEC Network+, so make sure you're subscribed to not miss quarterback John Mateer's debut. A season opener not on actual TV seems like a letdown, but at least it's not on pay-per-view anymore for the price of a ticket.

Week 1 in the SEC will also include a 7 p.m. CT primetime matchup between Auburn and Baylor on FOX, and the game of the week between Texas and defending national champion Ohio State will start at 11 a.m. CT on FOX.

OU could be part of the game of the week in Week 2 when the Sooners host the Michigan Wolverines on Sept. 6. That massive nonconference clash between two storied programs earned a primetime 6:30 p.m. CT slot on ABC. That slot is a good sign that ESPN's College Gameday could be in Norman that morning.

After back-to-back home night games to start the season, OU will play Temple on the road at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 13 on ESPN2. The Sooners will then open SEC play in Norman the next week against Auburn, where former Sooner Jackson Arnold should be QB1 and making a return. The SEC will announce start windows for all conference matchups in June.

The SEC also announced on Thursday that the Red River Rivalry on Oct. 11 will start at 2:30 p.m. CT for the second year in a row. The rivalry game had traditionally kicked at 11 a.m. CT before OU and Texas left the Big 12 for the SEC last year.
