Oklahoma softball held the fourth Battle Series of the fall on a chilly Halloween Friday night. Patty Gasso once again divided the roster into three batting teams like the previous intersquad scrimmages this fall, which had a theme of spooky puns on alumni for names.
Paige’s Pumpkin Smashers, with Isabela Emerling, Ella Parker, Ailana Agbayani and Kai Minor, won the five-inning matchup over Shay Knightmares with Kendall Wells, Gabbie Garcia, Kasidi Pickering, Chaney Helton, and Jessica Skulls with Nelly McEnroe-Marinas, Abby Dayton, Tia Milloy and Allyssa Parker.

The Skulls took the lead, then were tied by the Pumpkin Smashers in the first inning. While McEnroe-Marinas hit a single for her team, Ella Parker smacked a home run off of sophomore RHP Miali Guachino and evened the score. The Knightmares in the second inning galloped to the front with three runs from RBI singles by Pickering and Helton, while the Skulls jumped to second place after McEnroe-Marinas singled to the center.
After trailing in third place for the past two innings, the Pumpkin Smashers used the final three frames to fight back and was the only team that scored the rest of the contest. A homer by Agbayani and a single by Emerling helped them overtake the Skulls in the fourth inning, then Emerling again finished the job with a walk-off bomb that gave the Smashers a five-run victory.
Among the six pitchers, sophomore LHP Audrey Lowry was the only one who did not give up a single run for 2.2 innings in the circle, while Guachino struck the most batters out at three.
Agbayani led the batting lineup going 3-for-5 at the plate, while she and Ella Parker scored the most runs with two each. Eight Sooners accounted for 10 runs, and 10 players had 18 hits in total throughout the night.
Fans have one last chance to watch Oklahoma softball before the 2026 season starts with Battle Series 5 coming up on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT at Love’s Field.
