Oklahoma's Wednesday announcement of hiring Jim Nagy as General Manager for Football sent shockwaves well beyond Norman.

Nagy left his position as Executive Director of the Senior Bowl, where he had been since 2018, to take the new gig. Before that, Nagy sent 18 years in several NFL front offices in different scouting roles and was part of four Super Bowl championships.

Throughout the offseason, numerous articles listed Nagy as a top candidate to be a football general manager at any program that could lure him in as college football transforms to become more like the NFL.

Obviously Sooner Nation was thrilled about another exceptional hire this offseason for the football program, but the entire college football landscape was raising its eyebrows after OU's announcement on Wednesday.

Even Texas fans couldn't pretend not to be impressed with the hire.
