To the surprise of no one who has kept track, 2027 three-star defensive tackle Sione Felila will be a Sooner.
Felila announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Monday after recently narrowing down his options to OU, BYU, Arizona State, Kansas and Cal. It was fitting the Sooners beat out Cal since Felila's pledge put OU back at an even 20 2027 commits after running back Jaxsen Stokes flipped his commitment from OU to Cal over the weekend.
Sooners keep California pipeline rolling with Sione Felila
Despite being a late offer, the Sooners quickly rose to the top of Felila's list and he had been predicted by multiple recruiting experts to commit to OU for weeks before finally making it official. There was little drama anticipating his announcement. He was just in Norman in early March to help solidify things.
OU offered Felila on Feb. 11 to join a list that also included Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona, TCU, UCLA, Utah, Washington and more. Despite making a decision already, Felila made it known he still plans to honor the visits he previously scheduled to Cal on June 5, Kansas on June 12 and BYU on June 19. OU fans still shouldn't worry about Felila changing his mind, though. Felila should also return to Norman this summer for an official visit.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Felila, listed at 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds, is the No. 81 defensive lineman in the 2027 class and No. 59 prospect in the state of California, where the Sooners have recruited hard recently. The recently decommitted Stokes was also from Cali, so the Sooners' 2027 class again includes four commits from the Golden State.

Felila is also the third interior defensive lineman to join the Sooners' 2027 group after four-stars Elija Harmon, also from California, and Deven Robertson. Both are top-50 prospects at the position. Four-star edge rushers Taven Epps and Krew Jones are also on the way to bolster the Sooners' future defensive front.
