All signs are pointing toward the Oklahoma Sooners adding 2027 three-star defensive tackle Sione Felila to their top recruiting class, and now they even have a date for when Felila will inevitably choose to be a Sooner.
Felila on Tuesday announced via X his commitment date of Monday, April 27, and a top 5 that included OU, BYU, Arizona State, Kansas and Cal. He will make his announcement at 6 p.m. CT that day on Millions, a sports streaming site.
Sooners heavy favorites to land Sione Felila after late offer
After a lot of thought, prayer, and conversations with my family, I’m blessed to say I’ve officially narrowed my recruitment down to my Top 5. @OakHillsFootba1 @coachmetty @NickMonica63 pic.twitter.com/nwPsbhToeX

The Sooners were late to the race for Felila, but quickly sped to the front of the pack, with 247Sports already predicting Felila to choose OU with a 100% confidence level. Rivals has also predicted Felila to commit to the Sooners with an 87.8% confidence level. Fans can basically start saving the date for when the Sooners will land another 2027 prospect.
OU didn't offer Felila until Feb. 11, which was after every other program in his top 5 and is still his most recent offer. He already had other offers from Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona, TCU, UCLA, Utah, Washington and more.
Despite making his decision sooner, Felila still plans to honor the visits he scheduled to Cal on June 5, Kansas on June 12 and BYU on June 19. He will also take an official visit to Oklahoma at some point.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Felila, listed at 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds, is the No. 79 defensive lineman in the 2027 class and No. 54 prospect in the state of California, where the Sooners have recruited hard recently.
Last season, Felila totalled 45 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 10 games as a junior for Oak Hills High School.

Felila would be the third defensive tackle added to the Sooners' No. 1 2027 recruiting class, which has 20 total commitments. OU has also landed four-star Elija Harmon, also from California, and three-star Deven Robertson. Felila is ranked lower than both as a prospect.
