There's no college football program better represented in the NFL than the Oklahoma Sooners. That's now been backed up.
The Associated Press on Friday announced its 2024 NFL All-Pro Team, and OU had more former players included on the first and second teams than any other college football program with five.
The five Sooners featured included Creed Humphrey, Marvin Mims Jr., CeeDee Lamb, Lane Johnson and Nik Bonitto. Humphrey and Mims made the first team, while the other three were on the second team.
Humphrey and Mims were also voted by their peers to the NFLPA's The Players' All-Pro Team. Both were also selected to the Pro Bowl, along with four other Sooners.
Mims has been dangerous as a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos but has gotten all of his honors as a punt returner. He leads the NFL this season with 408 punt return yards and averaged 15.7 yards a return during the regular season. Mims also had 503 receiving yards and six TDs.
Humphrey has long been a staple at center on the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line protecting Patrick Mahomes during the Chiefs' run as back-to-back Super Bowl champions.
Along with Mims, Bonitto, a linebacker, has helped revitalize the Broncos into a playoff team. Johnson will also be playing in the NFL Playoffs with the Philadelphia Eagles on the offensive line, helping protect another former Sooner, Jalen Hurts.
Lamb's season with the Dallas Cowboys was cut short because of injury, but he still managed to earn Pro Bowl and AP All-Pro honors while reaching over 1,000 receiving yards. He had 101 receptions, 1,194 receiving yards and six TDs in just 15 games.
Behind OU's five players on the All-Pro Team was Alabama with four. LSU, Georgia, Mississippi State, Wisconsin and Notre Dame also all had three.
