The Jones family will definitely be a house divided.
Kaydin Jones, a consensus four-star running back from Jenks High School in Oklahoma, announced his college decision on Wednesday during a live stream from local TV station KOTV. Jones chose Oklahoma State from a final group that also included Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisville, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Jones' choice was staggering between his father's alma-mater and the fact OSU wasn't even on his radar a few months ago. Jones' dad, Kejuan Jones, was also a running back at Jenks before a career at OU. Jones had obviously grown up a Sooners fan and OU was one of the first programs to offer him.

In late January, Jones announced his final five choices, and the Cowboys weren't even included. He had listed OU, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Louisville. OSU wasn't even anywhere to be found in Jones' top 11.
Jones also had offers from the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Oregon, SMU, Texas A&M, Utah and more.

Mike Gundy and his staff made an extremely hard push late, though. Jones visited Stillwater two weeks ago, then posted on X a few days later that he would be committing soon. OSU's staff also made regular references to Jones' "Batman" nickname on social media, making it apparent how hard the Cowboys were after Jones.
Jones told KOTV after his commitment that OSU's new offensive coaching staff immediately reached out to him and was the biggest influence in his late decision.

Every major recruiting service ranks Jones as a top-5 overall prospect in the state of Oklahoma. Rivals is highest on Jones, ranking him as the seventh-best all-purpose running back in the 2026 class.
Jones still reportedly has an official visit to OU scheduled for June 20. The Sooners have four commits from the 2026 class so far. All are from the offensive side of the ball, but no running backs yet.
The group of 2026 commits includes quarterback Jaden O'Neal, wide receiver Daniel Odom, offensive lineman Will Conroy and tight end Ryder Mix.
