The Oklahoma Sooners are close to keeping a top in-state product home.
Kaydin "KD" Jones via X on Wednesday announced his top 5 school choices, which included OU, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Louisville.
Jones is a running back at Oklahoma powerhouse Jenks High School. He's a four-star recruit in the 2026 class. Every major recruiting service ranks Jones as a top-3 prospect in the state. Rivals is highest on Jones, ranking him as the second-best recruit in Oklahoma and No. 16 running back in the country.
Jones' other offers included Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, SMU, Texas A&M, Utah and others.
OU was one of the first programs to offer Jones way back in June 2023. The Sooners also already have another one-up on everyone else for the Oklahoma product. Jones' dad, Kejuan Jones, also played running back for the Sooners after a successful career at Jenks.
Last season as a junior, Jones rushed for 814 yards and eight TDs while averaging 5.5 yards a carry, according to MaxPreps, in only eight games at the highest level of high school football in Oklahoma. His best season came as a freshman, though, when he ran for 1,264 yards and 11 TDs, averaging 7.3 yards an attempt. His FBS offers started pouring in after that.
It's still early in the 2026 recruiting cycle, but Brent Venables and his staff have turned up the heat lately. So far, the Sooners have three commitments from the 2026 class, including four-star quarterback Jaden O'Neal, three-star tight end Ryder Mix and three-star offensive lineman Will Conroy.
