The Oklahoma Sooners joined the SEC softball world last year, and it's been theirs ever since.

The No. 1 Sooners on Saturday won two games against No. 11 Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, to not only seal their final series of the regular season and settle an overdue score, but also clinch the SEC regular-season championship for the second season in a row. OU also earned that title last year in its first season in the conference after leaving the Big 12. It's also the 14th straight season the Sooners claimed either a regular-season or tournament conference championship between two different conferences.

Sooners avenge Texas A&M to secure SEC title

After dropping Game 1 of the series in a contest that started Thursday but didn't conclude until Friday because of a weather delay, the Sooners fought with their backs against the wall on Saturday to be on top of the SEC all by themselves again.

OU won Game 2 after freshman Kai Minor tripled to score Ailana Agbayani and break a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning. After relieving Miali Guachino, Audrey Lowry, who suffered the loss Game 1, rebounded by shutting down the Aggies the final 2 2/3 innings to secure the win.

The Sooners in Game 3 put up a quick four runs in the opening frame before eventually putting together a 6-0 lead heading into the seventh inning. OU then fended off a four-run inning from Texas A&M to survive 6-4 and ultimately guarantee the SEC title.

It was a score that was finally settled nearly an entire year later for the Sooners. OU was looking to sweep the SEC trophies last season as a newcomer, but after making it to the SEC Tournament finals against Texas A&M, the championship game was called and never played because of weather as both teams were deemed co-champions in a bizarre situation. The Aggies again had a chance to squander OU's title plans with a sweep, but this time, there's no "co" next to the Sooners' title.

The Sooners are now clearly right at home as the most dominant college softball program in the country now dominating what's considered the premier conference of college softball.
