It seems the Oklahoma Sooners are ahead of the curve on the recruiting trail again.

Aiden Seales, a rather unknown wide receiver in the 2028 class, announced via X this week that he received an offer from OU as just the fifth Power Four program so far to give Seales a chance. A lack of offers or recruiting ratings haven't been scaring the Sooners away, though, and has actually been more of a benefit as general manager Jim Nagy trusts his initial instincts over anything else.

Aiden Seales gets OU offer as Jim Nagy strikes early again

So far, as his sophomore year comes to an end, Seales has reported offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Cal, Minnesota, North Texas, Tulane and UTSA. All of his Power Four offers but the recent one from the Sooners came last summer as his recruitment hit somewhat of a drought recently.

Seales is still unrated and unranked by every major national recruiting outlet. That mixed with his size at only 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds has most college football programs completely overlooking him. Very little goes unnoticed by Nagy and his front office staff, though.

Seales uses his speed to be a weapon all over the field for Stafford High School in Texas. Labeled as an athlete by some recruiting experts, Seales plays wide receiver and running back, and also even lines up at wildcat quarterback some. He also returns kicks and plays safety on the defensive side of the ball.

Last season, Seales rushed for 524 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 7.8 a carry. He also caught 43 passes for 829 yards and 16 more touchdowns. He averaged 19.3 yards a reception. Between rushing, receiving and returns, Seales totaled 1,631 all-purpose yards last year, according to MaxPreps.

It's clear the speed and talent is already there for Seales. The size could also be on the way, too, with two years of high school left and MaxPreps now having him listed at 5-foot-11, which is two inches taller than his recruiting profile on 247Sports.

Regardless, Nagy is not waiting around to see what happens. The Sooners have been jumping early on talent since he's been in charge and the early offers have been paying off with big-time commits, including top-5 running back Keldrid Ben and three-star wide receiver Tra'Von Hall, who were both unrated and unranked in the 2027 class when OU offered.
