The Oklahoma Sooners will play Temple at 11 a.m. CT Saturday in Philadelphia, and although it’s not a long list compared to last season's issues, OU will still be without some playmakers in what could be a trap game against the Owls.

Oklahoma vs. Temple injury report

OU head coach Brent Venables gave a positive report about wide receiver Javonnie Gibson this week. Gibson made the trip to Philly and was fully dressed, but didn't go through pregame warmups.

“He’s been great,” Venables said of Gibson. “He’s right on schedule. He’s got an excitement to him. Obviously, he’s anxious to get back out there.

“He’s making tremendous progress. I look forward to seeing him back out there very soon.”

Gibson transferred from Arkansas-Pine Bluff this offseason, but hasn’t made his OU debut yet after breaking his leg during spring ball. He’s expected to be inserted into the receiver rotation once healthy.

Wide receiver Jayden Gibson, another expected starter, also hasn’t seen the field yet this season. Gibson has been sidelined since breaking his leg during fall camp of 2024.

Offensive tackle Jacob Sexton, who started Week 1, was added to the list of the Sooners’ offensive injuries after exiting the season opener on the sixth play. Sexton didn’t play last week, and in his place, freshman Michael Fasusi started in his college debut.

However, Fasusi will miss another game after impressing in his debut. He told media after last week's game that he sprained his ankle, but it seems more serious than that, because Fasusi was in street clothes with a boot on his left ankle during pregame warmups, according to Ryan Chapman of Sooners on SI.

According to Parker Thune of Rivals, Logan Howland will get the nod at left tackle, meaning the Sooners have had a different starter in that spot every game so far.

Also along the offensive line, center Troy Everett will also be absent.

Defensively, the Sooners have been without cornerback Eli Bowen and corner/cheetah Kendel Dolby through the first two weeks. Also at corner, Gentry Williams left the game against Michigan early. Dolby, though, went through pregame with the first team, so he could make his season debut against Temple.

Defensive end Danny Okoye was also in street clothes during warmups.

The Sooners were also without punter Jacob Ulrich on special teams last week. Ulrich made the trip and has a wrap on his right hamstring, according to Ryan Chapman of Sooners on SI.

With SEC play starting next week against Auburn, who the Sooners will or will not have will become clearer ahead of conference games because of the mandatory availability report.

This post will be updated as more injury news comes out during pregame before Oklahoma vs. Temple.
