There's no denying the Oklahoma baseball team needs to be ranked now.

After being unranked so far this young season, the Sooners debuted in the latest D1 Baseball Rankings at No. 16 on Monday after an outstanding weekend that included a pair of top-10 upsets.

College baseball has a plethora of rankings, with D1 Baseball's rankings being the most noteable. The Sooners were previously 20th in Perfect Games's rankings and No. 25 in the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll last week, but nowhere to be found in the D1 Baseball Rankings.

OU went 3-0 at the Round Rock Classic this past weekend in Texas with wins over Minnesota, then-No. 7 Oregon State and then-No. 2 Virginia.

First, the Sooners slipped past Minnesota 3-2. The Golden Gophers were the only team in the stacked festival without any sort of ranking.

OU then handled Oregon State 8-4 on Saturday. The Beavers beat Minnesota and Virginia during the trip, slipping only two spots to No. 9 this week at 5-2.

The weekend finale was the Sooners' 5-4 comeback win in 12 innings over Virginia on Sunday. After starting the season 3-3 after two losses this past weekend, Virginia plummetted eight spots to No. 10, one spot behind Oregon State.

OU is one of only five ranked teams still undefeated after two weeks of the 2025 college baseball season. The Sooners swept Lehigh in a home series opening weekend.

Next, the Sooners host Texas Southern on Tuesday and Wednesday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park. They'll then host a weekend series with California State Northridge.
