What's Jalen Hurts gotta do to get some more respect around here?
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and former Oklahoma Sooner Jalen Hurts was listed at No. 19 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2025. He was the eighth and likely final former OU player to appear on the list.

Although being one of the 20 best players in the NFL is an honor, it still seems undervalued for the reigning Super Bowl MVP, especially considering Hurts dropped four spots in the rankings after being No. 15 last year. It's an even further plummet from being No. 3 in 2023.
It's worth noting, though, that players vote on this list before the regular season is even over, which seems like a flawed system. That means Hurts' playoff run and leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl title wasn't considered.
Regardless, even without a Super Bowl title on his resume, Hurts is still under-appreciated throughout the league. NFL veteran QB Jameis Winston even agrees with that.
"I think they always -- they be slighting my dog Jalen on here," Winston said in the NFL's video. "He wins games. He wins games."

Since the regular season is all that what was considered when voting on this list, Hurts threw for 2,903 yards and 18 touchdowns compared to five interceptions last year. He also rushed for 630 yards and another 14 scores. Hurts also missed two games because of injury early in the season.
Hurts should climb up these rankings next year with a Super Bowl MVP now in consideration, especially if he stays healthy and boosts his regular-season numbers in 2025.
With Hurts likely the final and highest-ranked addition, the Sooners had eight players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2025, including Creed Humphrey (93), Joe Mixon (58), Baker Mayfield (50), Trent Williams (45), Nik Bonitto (38), CeeDee Lamb (35) and Hurts' Eagles teammate Lane Johnson (23).
