Isabella Smith's first start with the Oklahoma Sooners went flawlessly.

Smith tossed a perfect game on Friday in the No. 3 Sooners' 8-0 win against California Baptist in Fullerton, California.

California Baptist lasted only five innings with OU before the Sooners strung together five singles in a row in the fifth to score three runs and finish the run-rule. OU was scoreless the first inning before getting at least one run across the next four innings.

In the win, Smith struck out six batters while not giving up a hit or walk in five innings of work.

Smith also threw 3 1/3 innings of relief in OU's season opener against California State Northridge on Thursday. She was again perfect then while striking out five.

Smith transferred to OU from Campbell as a graduate transfer this past offseason. At Campbell, Smith was CAA Pitcher of the Year in 2024 and Big South Pitcher of the Year in 2023.

In just two days as a Sooner now, Smith has pitched 8 1/3 perfect innings with 11 strikeouts and still hasn't allowed a run or walk in two separate outings.

Later Friday, the Sooners also beat Cal State Fullerton 13-3 to start their season 4-0 during their California road trip.

Both teams were scoreless the first three innings before OU busted things open with five runs in the fourth thanks to Gabbie Garcia's grand slam. The Sooners added five again in the sixth inning then three in the seventh.

After back-to-back days of doubleheaders, the Sooners play just one on Saturday against Loyola Marymount. OU's West Coast trek will conclude on Sunday against Long Beach State.
