The quest for a fifth straight national championship starts now for Patty Gasso and the Oklahoma softball team.
The Sooners will start their 2025 season this weekend with a road trip to the West Coast with six games throughout the state of California.
Gasso elected to go to campuses in California, her home state, for opening weekend to help draw crowds to the stadiums of some suffering mid-major programs and help revitalize them. It will also give Gasso a chance to see what she really has with this team after having to almost completely replace last year's roster.
The Sooners' trip will start with a pair of games on San Diego State's campus before heading to Cal State Fullerton's campus, then L.A., Gasso's home city, and then finishing up the weekend on the campus of Long Beach State, Gasso's alma mater.
OU will open the season against Cal State Northridge on Thursday before playing San Diego State in the second game of a doubleheader. San Diego State, which is receiving votes in rankings, will be the toughest challenge on the trip for the No. 3 Sooners.
The Sooners will play two again on Friday against California Baptist and Cal State Fullerton.
Saturday and Sunday will each include just one game against Loyola Marymount and Long Beach State, respectively.
With six games at different locations and times, how to watch the Sooners also varies game by game. Here's one stop to see how to watch every game of OU's 2025 opening weekend and when so you don't have to miss an inning.
