Need to know
The Sooners began the season at the top of the rankings and are still No. 1 after their first outing. OU got the win at the American Gold Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Classic last week in Nashville. The Sooners' score of 197.550 was the best among all teams in the country opening weekend.
OU's Faith Torrez also won the all-around title with a score of 39.625, while her teammate, Lily Pederson, was right behind her in second place.
Keira Wells also earned SEC Specialist of the Week honors after winning the vault title with a 9.95. OU notched every event title at the American Gold Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Classic.
The Sprouts Collegiate Quad is loaded even outside of the Sooners. LSU was the only team other OU to post a score higher than 197 last weekend. Utah had the fourth-highest score of the week with a 196.775.
Although still early in the season, every team gets to Oklahoma City still unbeaten with a top-6 ranking.
The Sooners will start the event against California, followed by LSU, then Utah.
