For the last time during the 2024-25 college basketball season, there will be a game at Lloyd Noble Center.
The Oklahoma women's basketball team will host the 6-seed Iowa Hawkeyes in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Monday afternoon in Norman. The Sooners earned hosting rights for the first two rounds of the tournament after getting the 3-seed in Regional 4.
The Sooners handled the 14-seed Florida Gulf Coast Eagles 81-58 in the first round on Saturday. Right before OU beat FGCU at Lloyd Noble Center, Iowa took out 11-seed Murray State 92-57 to set up the second-round matchup.
The Hawkeyes made a run to the national championship game last year, but a lot has changed for the program. Star player Caitlin Clark moved on to the WNBA after taking the world by storm and head coach Lisa Bluder retired after 24 years at the helm.
This season, Iowa is 23-10 under first-year coach Jan Jensen. The Sooners are 26-7 under Jennie Baranczyk, who just notched her 100th win at OU on Saturday.
The winner of OU and Iowa will get the winner of 2-seed UConn and 10-seed South Dakota State. The Huskies blew out 15-seed Arkansas State 103-34 in the first round, while SDSU upset 7-seed Oklahoma State 74-68 to ruin any chances of Bedlam later on in the bracket. Both teams are dangerous, though, with at least 30 wins this season.
