Things are rarely easy for the Oklahoma women's basketball team in the SEC.

The No. 13 Sooners have another top-15 matchup in conference play against No. 7 LSU on Thursday night.

Need to know

During just one month of SEC play, this will be the fourth time Oklahoma will face an opponent ranked inside the top 15 during the meeting. So far, the Sooners have won just such matchup against No. 15 Tennessee, 87-86.

That tough slate has contributed to OU being an underwhelming 4-3 in SEC play despite being the No. 13 team in the country. Two of those losses, though, were to top-5 squads.

If not for already facing No. 2 South Carolina, which was the undefeated national champion last year, then LSU on Tuesday night would be the Sooners' toughest challenge so far. At 21-1, the Tigers' only loss of the season this season was to South Carolina, 66-56, on Friday. That loss ended a 20-game winning streak for LSU.

The Tigers are led by junior guard Flau'jae Johnson, who averages 19.7 points a game. Including Johnson, LSU has four players that average double figures.

Junior center Raegan Beers leads the Sooners while averaging 16.7 points and 8.9 rebounds a game. Guard Payton Verhulst is the only other Sooners who averages double digits at 14.5.

The Sooners are coming off an 86-55 win over Georgia on Sunday. Both teams are entering the game with wins after rebounding from losses to South Carolina the game before.

Again, things are rarely easy for the Sooners with this SEC schedule. They get No. 12 Kentucky next on Sunday at Lloyd Noble Center. That'll give OU three top-15 opponents during a four-game stretch.

The Oklahoma men's basketball team is also powering through a tough stretch with five ranked opponents in a row during SEC play.
