The Oklahoma women rebounded from a 41-point loss to No. 2 South Carolina with a 31-point win over Georgia at Lloyd Noble Center on Sunday.
Raegan Beers and Payton Verhulst both tallied 13 points, and Sahara Williams added a dozen more as the Sooners scored their second-most points in SEC play in the 86-55 win. In addition to her scoring, the Oregon State transfer Beers pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Sooners charged out to a 28-12 advantage after one quarter and widened the advantage to 54-30 at halftime. Oklahoma shot a sizzling 62% in the opening have, hitting 21 of its 34 field-goal attempts, including 5 of 9 from long range.
Oklahoma bench players were an important part of the win, contributing nearly half of the Sooners' 38 points.
The 15th-ranked OU women improved to 16-4 on the season and 4-3 in SEC play, and are now 4-0 in games following a loss this season.
Georgia freshman Mia Woolfolk came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points, one off her season high. No other Bulldog reached double figures.
Oklahoma is back on the road this week with a game on Thursday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, against No. 5 LSU.
Here are three takeaways that largely tell the story of the game:
1. Sooners score 54 first-half points
Oklahoma's 54 first-half points were one fewer than Georgia scored in the entire game. The Sooners led 54-30 at the midpoint in the contest and shot 62% from the field in holding Georgia to a season-low in points by an OU opponent in SEC play. All 11 OU players who attempted shot in the first half made at least one.
2. Sooners have been virtually unbeatable at home
The Sooners have won 19 of their last 20 homes games at Lloyd Noble Center. Their lone loss over that stretch was 80-73 this season against No. 5 Texas. They have also won 16 consecutive home games against unranked opponents and 23 straight against unranked opponents in conference play.
3. Oklahoma has not been outrebounded in SEC play
OU was dominant on the boards against Georgia, outrebounding the Bulldogs 50-36, including 15 offensive rebounds that led to 14 second-chance points. The Sooners have not been outrebounded in seven SEC conference games. In fact, the Sooners have lost the rebound battle just once this season in a 109-99 overtime loss to Duke in late November.
