The 2025 Women's College World Series starts on Thursday, and it's the only day with all eight teams in action.
After two weekends of Regionals and Super Regionals play in the NCAA Softball Championship, the field of 64 teams is down to eight competing for a national championship at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. The final eight standing includes No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 Florida, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 9 UCLA, No. 12 Texas Tech, No. 16 Oregon and Ole Miss.
This is the Sooners' ninth straight trip to the WCWS, which is the longest active streak in the country. It will be Texas Tech and Ole Miss' first-ever appearances in the WCWS after upset runs in Super Regionals.
The WCWS will start things with an SEC showcase as the top bracket features only teams from the conference. The opening game will be between Florida and Texas, followed by four-time defending national champion OU playing Tennessee in Game 2.
The Volunteers beat OU in an SEC series in Norman during the regular season. Texas also took two of three from Florida during the season.
Bracket 2 play will start Thursday evening with Texas Tech vs. Ole Miss and UCLA vs. Oregon. UCLA dropped two of three games to Oregon during the season.
With four games, Thursday is the most softball we get in the nearly two weeks in OKC.
The losers of each game will play in elimination games on Friday and the winners will get a day off before playing on Saturday.
