Apparently, the Georgia Bulldogs' best hope in taking down the Oklahoma Sooners in the SEC Softball Tournament is that they haven't been able to beat OU at all this season.

The No. 9 seed Bulldogs beat No. 8 LSU 7-3 on Wednesday night to set up a Thursday evening matchup with the top-seeded Sooners in the quarterfinals of the SEC Softball Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky. After the win power by starting pitching Randi Roelling, she and head coach Tony Baldwin talked with the SEC Network crew, when Dari Nowkhah asked about their looming meeting with OU less than two weeks after getting swept by the Sooners in Norman.

Randi Roelling admits losing to Oklahoma is Georgia's only hope ahead of SEC Softball Tournament rematch

Nowkhah asked the question and Roelling told her coach she had an answer.

"I'd say it's hard to beat a team four times," Roelling said. "What (Baldwin) says is how many times you hit, like, it's in your favor. It's in our favor, and we're gonna go out and take it. Go out and take every game that we have. And we want it. I think it's hard to beat a team four times, and we want to do it. We want it and our team does it."

Roelling was riding the high of a complete-game performance in which she gave up just one earned run and struck out a season-high 10 LSU batters. Things didn't go that well when she faced the Sooners just four outings before, though.

The Sooners swept the Bulldogs and outscored them 19-8 in the three-game series on April 24-26. It was the only time this season that OU swept an SEC opponent. Roelling pitched in two of those losses, totalling four runs in 8.2 innings. She gave up three home runs as the Sooners during the series broke the NCAA record for the most home runs in a season.

Whatever hope Georgia has, the Sooners have already extinguished it three times before.

Other than being outside of the friendly confines of Love's Field, nothing has changed between these two teams for Round 4. In fact, center field at John Cropp Stadium is even five feet shorter than at Love's Field, so that's another slight advantage for the Sooners. And if Roelling does pitch, it will be just 24 hours after tossing seven innings and 132 pitches.

Everything is in the Sooners' favor for this matchup, even what Georgia believes is its key advantage.
